Letting Go of My Timeline: Trusting God in the Waiting

God’s timing, not mine.
God’s will, not mine.
God’s plan, not mine.
God’s glory, not mine.

I saw this image today and it hit me right in the heart. You ever have one of those moments where it feels like God is whispering to you through something simple but you know it’s Him speaking directly to you?

That was this.

I’ve walked through so many seasons where I’ve been trying to force momentum. Doing all the “right” things. Showing up. Serving. Launching. Pivoting. Building. But underneath it all… I’ve had to ask myself:

Am I building on God’s timing or my own expectations?

When You Feel the Pressure to Make it Happen

There’s this quiet pressure that creeps in sometimes, especially as women who can do a lot. We’re capable. We’re creative. We know how to push through. But just because we can doesn’t always mean we should.

There was a season where I started questioning, “Did God even call me to this or did I just step into it because I felt like I should?”

That was a hard moment of honesty. And it’s one I think a lot of us have, even if we don’t talk about it out loud.

We want to be faithful, but we also want to be fruitful. And sometimes, when the fruit feels delayed, we assume something’s wrong with us. But maybe, just maybe, it’s not about failure. Maybe it’s about alignment.

God’s Timing > Our Hustle

I’ve learned that obedience doesn’t always look like speed. Sometimes, it looks like stillness. Like pausing when the world says “push.” Like sitting with God when every voice online is shouting strategies.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

His time.

Not the algorithm’s.
Not the quarter’s.
Not even the client’s.

And let me tell you… that’s hard. Especially when you’re in the middle of something that feels stuck. But God isn’t rushed. He’s intentional. And He’s far more invested in our becoming than our producing.

When It’s Not About My Will

Whew. This one is humbling.

I’ve had plans. Goals. Launches I thought were divinely timed—only to have them flop, stall, or get delayed. And in those moments, I’ve had to come back to a hard but beautiful truth:

“Not my will, but Yours, Lord.”

Because I don’t want success without peace. I don’t want results that pull me away from rest. And I definitely don’t want to build something that feeds my ego more than it reflects His glory.

God’s Glory, Not Mine

Let’s be real… in the online space, it’s easy to get caught up in building a brand instead of walking out a calling. I’ve had to ask myself multiple times:

  • Is this content pointing people to me… or to Him?

  • Am I trying to be seen or trying to serve?

  • Is this about results or obedience?

These aren’t always comfortable questions. But they’re clarifying.

When I remind myself that this business is His, the pressure to prove something starts to break off. I stop performing and start listening. I stop striving and start stewarding.

What This Looks Like in Real Life

Here’s what this surrender has looked like for me lately:

  • Saying no to good opportunities that aren’t God opportunities.

  • Taking a breath before jumping into a new offer just because it’s trending.

  • Spending more time in prayer than on Pinterest.

  • Writing content that reflects my convictions, not just what converts.

And yes, it means trusting that if I’m aligned with Him, the right clients, collaborators, and connections will come in His time.

If You’re in the Waiting… You’re Not Behind

I don’t know who else needs to hear this today, but:
Just because it hasn’t happened yet, doesn’t mean you missed it.

God’s not late. He’s just building something deeper first.

You’re not behind.
You’re being prepared.
And you don’t have to hustle your way into a promise that was never yours to manufacture.

Pause. Ask. Surrender.

Today, I want to invite you to pause. For 10 minutes. No strategy. No checklist. Just ask:

“God, is this mine to carry or is this Yours?”

Let Him speak.

Because I believe with my whole heart: when we hand it back to Him, He does more with it than we ever could on our own.
